Story
Ambeloui is a boutique family run winery tucked away in Hout Bay. They solely produce only high quality Methode Cap Classique Sparkling Wine in the traditional french method. Their bubbly is released annually on the first weekend of November from the farm with a very limited stock. Already this year’s release of Miranda is sold out in South Africa.
The family, of Greek decent, is involved in Ambeloui with Miranda, of whom this wine is named after, running the cellar.
Tasting Notes
Pair this bubbly with “Gloria, mio Dio” from Jacopo Peri’s Euridice. The opera is based on Greek mythology and is the oldest surviving opera known to date. The aria, sung by Euridice, is joyful and celebratory as she rejoices in her return to life after being resurrected by Orpheus.
